A conventional rod is designed to attract the strike and conduct hundreds of kiloamps to ground through your structure. A DDCE head does the opposite: it continuously compensates the electric field around the structure so the upward leader never forms. The result is prevention, not conduction — the strike simply does not happen.

Coverage is calculated by the rolling-sphere method per UNE-EN IEC 62305 / NFPA 780, at protection levels I–IV. Depending on the level and the structure, a single head can protect a plan radius of up to roughly 100 metres. We calculate the exact figure for your site during the assessment.

No. DDCE heads are entirely passive — no electronics, no power supply, no consumables and no moving parts. They have a service life of around 20 years and require no scheduled intervention.

The DDCE platform holds ISO 9001:2015 (Bureau Veritas, valid to 2029), Bureau Veritas product certificates, a UL 96 listing for the DDCE 100 Plus, CIME Mexico homologation, and a NATO NCAGE registration (SYN37). It is tested at LCOE Getafe, the University of Pau high-voltage lab and INTA (Spanish Ministry of Defence).

In the laboratory a DDCE withstands 705 kV applied progressively at 1.2 m without discharge, and a lightning current impulse of 100 kA (10/350 µs waveform) — specific energy W/R = 2500 kJ/Ω, charge Q ≈ 50 C. It also absorbs 60–90% of electromagnetic-pulse energy between 0.4 and 2 GHz.
